David Hoover serves as the Manager of the Greensboro Aquatic Center. David joined the GAC team in the Summer of 2012 and previously served as both the Event Coordinator and Event Manager.
Since his tenure began in Greensboro, David has worked nearly (700) events in 11 years. Events include:
- (8) USA Swimming National Championships,
- (3) USA Diving National Championships,
- (4) US Synchro Swimming National Championships,
- (2) USA Water Polo Olympic Development Tournaments,
- (3) US Masters National Championships,
- (12) YMCA National Swimming Championships,
- (5) NCAA DI-DIII National Championships,
- (7) ACC Conference Championships,
- (10) ODAC Conference Championships
- Numerous other College Conference Championships
2015 AAC Conference Championships and countless other Local, State and North Carolina Swimming events.
He has worked closely with numerous television networks to run National events, including NBC, NBC Sports Network, ESPN, FOX and The Olympic Channel.
Prior to the GAC, David was a Lifeguard, Swim Instructor and Pool Manager for 7 years in Elyria, Ohio and was a Game Operations Crew Leader for his college’s basketball and hockey teams in Niagara, New York. He completed two summer internships in Event Management and Marketing with the Cleveland Browns of the NFL and attended Super Bowl 44 serving as an NFL On-Location volunteer in Miami. He also participated in a 2 month internship with the Greensboro Coliseum and Aquatic Center working events ranging from NCAA and ACC basketball to major concerts and trade shows.
A native of Elyria, OH, David graduated from Niagara University in 2012 with a B.S. in Sport and Facility Management. His numerous certifications include: Aquatic Facility Operator (AFO), Certified Pool Operator (CPO), Water Safety Instructor (WSI), American Red Cross Lifeguard and CPR. He resides in Greensboro with his wife and two daughters.
