Andrew Niemiec

Andrew Niemiec serves as the Event Manager for the Greensboro Aquatic Center. He is responsible for event staffing, catering, event logistics, and also oversees the lifeguard team. Andrew joined the GAC in the Fall of 2018.

 In the Spring of 2018 Andrew was an intern at the GAC for 4 months. During his internship he assisted staff with numerous local, regional and national events. Since the Fall of 2018 as the event coordinator, Andrew has expanded his event repertoire to the following: a multitude of North Carolina Swimming events, many local and State Championships, (2) YMCA National Championships, (5) ACC Swimming and Diving Championships, (4) ODAC Swimming Championships, (5) NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships, (3) USA Water Polo Olympic Development Tournaments, 2019 Synchro America Open, (6) USA Swimming Championships, 2019 TYR Pro Swim Series as well as the 2022 USA Swimming Phillips 66 International Team Trails. Several of these events were broadcasted on major networks: ESPN, NBC, NBS Sports and the Olympic Channel.

 Prior to joining the GAC Andrew worked for a Wisconsin summer camp (URJ OSRUI), where he served as the Aquatics Director for the camp for 5 years. While at OSRUI, he was responsible for an outdoor pool as well as a lake front. He also handled all facility needs including scheduling, maintenance, staffing and coordination with different departments.

 A native of Oconomowoc, Wisconsin, Andrew graduated from the University of Wisconsin La-Crosse in 2018 with a B.S. in Recreational Management and a minor in Business Administration. He also swam for the University.
