Olympic Stars Return to Long Course Swimming at Toyota U.S. Open

Many of the nation’s fastest swimmers will return to long-course meter swimming this week at the 2021 Toyota U.S. Open. The competition takes place December 1-4 at the Greensboro Aquatic Center in Greensboro, North Carolina.

Headlining the four-day event are Olympic Games Tokyo 2020 gold medalists Katie Ledecky (Bethesda, Md./Nation’s Capital/Gator Swim Club) and Bobby Finke (Clearwater, Fla./Gator Swim Club). The duo is scheduled to compete in four events each, including their signature 800- and 1500-meter freestyle events.

The women’s psych sheet will also be headlined by Olympic medalists Kathleen Baker (Winston-Salem, N.C./Team Elite), Paige Madden (Mobile, Ala./City of Mobile Swim Association), Regan Smith (Lakeville, Minn./Stanford) and Alex Walsh (Nashville, Tenn./ Nashville Aquatic Club/University of Virginia). The men’s psych sheet is also topped by U.S. National Team members Luca Urlando (Sacramento, Calif./University of Georgia/DART Swimming – Davis), David Curtiss (Yardley, Pa./Hamilton Y Aquatic Club) and Coleman Stewart (York, Pa./Wolfpack Elite).

Prelims for the 2021 Toyota U.S. Open will begin each morning at 10 a.m. ET. Finals begin on Wednesday, December 1 at 6 p.m. ET with the 800m freestyle, followed by nightly finals from Friday to Saturday beginning at 7 p.m. ET.
